Slide background
In a non-place where the wind dwells and humans resist.
In a place where humans live and the wind carries them away.
In a time where almost-humans almost-exist, even though almost everything blows with the wind.
Does science survive? Faith? Affection? What about what is most wild?
Is taking root a way to resist, or is flying the way to survive?
The four of them for themselves, and the wind for all… directions.
“Inside, the wind. Everything closed, and the wind within.”

Venue: Stage, Black Box Theater, or Outdoors

WIND was born from the anxieties and hopes arising from the media, political, and ecological storm we live in today. In uncertain times, the show opens a reflection on possible presents and futures, utopias and dystopias, strength and fragility. At the eye of a hurricane—the worst of scenarios—an unlikely group emerges and resists.

Created in 2018, WIND is the sixth production by the company and premiered at SESC Santana (São Paulo, Brazil).
The creation process began in 2017, during Cia. Solas de Vento’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Mariana Duarte and André Schulle were invited to join the cast of this new work. Together with playwright Bobby Baq, the dramaturgy was developed through a collaborative process.

As a way to deepen its research in physical and visual theater, the company chose not to use spoken word, placing the focus instead on the performers’ bodies in dialogue with melodies composed by musician Lívia Mattos.
